Next to family and Church, the community probably has the most powerful influence on an individual's moral sensibilities. The moral standards of a community determine the nature of the entertainment allowed and the types of magazines and books sold in the community. In fact, U.S. courts of law use prevailing community standards to judge whether or not materials are pornographic.

...If we choose to overlook or ignore our community responsibilities, we may well be abdicating control of the influences on our families to others. Our standards and values can be an influence for good in our community-but only when we become involved and share that influence.

When Mother Teresa was asked to join in a march against war, will you be there? She said no. But if you will have a march for peace I will be there. A war on terrorism is feeding the very monster, terrorism, that we are trying to ameliorate. What we have got to do is flip it over. Ernest Holmes had a wonderful saying - "Wouldn't it be wonderful if a group of people arrived on earth that were for something and against nothing." Be for peace, not against war.

The miracles of modern technology have brought efficiency into our lives in ways not dreamed of a generation ago, yet with this new technology has come a deluge of new challenges to our morals and our values. Some tend to rely more on technology than on theology. I hasten to add that scientific knowledge, the marvels of communication, and the wonders of modern medicine have come from the Lord to enhance His work throughout the world.... But Satan, of course, is aware of this great progress in technology and likewise takes advantage of it for his purposes, which are to destroy and despoil. He delights in the pornography on the Internet and the sleaze in many of our movies and television shows. He has even engineered some of his own satanic messages into some of our modern music.
