I'm impressed that the book of Job vividly illustrates a teaching from the Lectures on Faith, that if anyone is to endure in faithfulness in his life, he must know three things: that God exists, that he is perfect in his character and in his attributes, and that the course of life which one pursues is pleasing to the Lord. If any one of these elements is missing then the full basis for faith is missing.

I'm not perfect; I'll piss you off, say stupid things then take them back but put that all aside, and realize that you'll never find a girl who cares about you more than me.

Quickly forgotten by those who are offended is the fact that the Church is “for the perfecting of the saints” (Eph. 4:12); it is not a well-provisioned rest home for the already perfected.

I remind you that the Church is not a monastery for the isolation of perfect people. It is more like a hospital provided for those who wish to get well.
