Everything has a price. There is a price to pay for success, fulfillment, accomplishment, and joy. There are no freebies. If you don’t pay the price that is needed for success, you will pay the price of failure. Preparation, work, study, and service are required to achieve and find happiness. Disobedience and lack of preparation carry a terrible price tag.

Two shallow substitutes which people unconciously take as happiness are activity and aquisition.

True happiness is an acceptance of life as it is given to us, with its diminishment, mystery, uncontrollability, and all.

Don't aim at success - the more you aim at it and make it a target, the more you are going to miss it. For success, like happiness, cannot be pursued; it must ensue...as the unintended side-effect of one's personal dedication to a course greater than oneself.

Everything you have experienced up till now is what you were born to learn about.

You can have no inner peace as long as the controls of your life are located outside yourself.

One of the highest places you can get to is to be independent of the opinions of other people.

Action may not always bring happiness; but there is no happiness without action.

By definition, according to the scarcity paradigm, no person can ever engage in a win-win transaction. The dilemma becomes, then, if I want to be happy I must do it at the expense of other people, and If I want to be moral, I must sacrifice my happiness to do so.

The abundance paradigm helps us to see the possibility of and the value in win-win exchanges and transactions. People who are operating in abundance know that by servicing the wants of others, and thus creating happiness in the lives of others, they actually bring more happiness to themselves.

Success is getting what you want. Happiness is wanting what you get.
