Repentance takes care of the past,
Faith takes care of the future,
And the Holy Ghost helps us with today.

How oft the ignorance of men causes them to spend themselves in sulking instead of seeking.

Many young women are serving missions. Many are preparing to serve, not because they aren’t married or have nothing else to do, but because they have a desire to serve and therefore are being called to the work. The reason so many are going is because in the next generation, Heavenly Father will be sending his Priesthood Army to the earth. And He wants to send them to mothers who have been properly trained and taught in the gospel. And what better training can a young woman have than that of serving a mission!

We tend to think only in terms of our endurance, but it is God’s patient longsuffering which provides us with our chances to improve, affording us urgently needed developmental space or time. …Otherwise, if certain mortal experiences were cut short, it would be like pulling up a flower to see how the roots are doing.

Decisions determine destiny.

It is not the duration of our prayers but the depth of our desire that results in revelation.

It is good to learn while you are young that spiritual things cannot be forced. Sometimes you may struggle with a problem and not get an answer. What could be wrong? It may be that you are not doing anything wrong. It may be that you have not done enough right things long enough. Remember you cannot force spiritual things.

Answers from the Lord come quietly – ever so quietly. In fact, few hear his answers audibly with their ears. We must be listening so carefully or we will never recognize them. Most answers from the lord are felt in our heart as a warm comfortable expression, or they may come as thoughts to our mind. They come to those who are prepared and who are patient.

With an uncluttered life, you will not be so busy doing terrestrial things that you do not have time to do those things which are celestial. …Learn to say no to those things that will rob you of your precious time and infringe upon your agency to choose to live in exactness to God’s plan of happiness and exaltation.
