I know that you believe that you understood what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

I encourage you to discover who you really are. I invite you to look beyond the daily routine of life. I urge you to discern through the spirit your divinely given capacities.

Without reservation I promise you that if each of you will observe this simple program, regardless of how many times you previously may have read the Book of Mormon, there will come into your lives and into your homes an added measure of the Spirit of the Lord, a strengthened resolution to walk in obedience to His commandments, and a stronger testimony of the living reality of the Son of God.

If our people will faithfully attend the temple the Lord will bless them in these ways:
1. Greater love and unity in the home
2. Business and professions will prosper
3. Their children will be saved
4. Angels will protect them.

If the Saints obey this counsel [to hold family home evening], we promise that great blessings will result. Love at home and obedience to parents will increase. Faith will be developed in the hearts of the youth... and they will gain power to combat the evil influences and temptations which beset them.

Of all the creations of the Almighty, there is none more beautiful, none more inspiring than a lovely daughter of God who walks in virtue with an understanding of why she should do so, who honors and respects her body as a thing sacred and divine, who cultivates her mind and constantly enlarges the horizons of her understanding, who nurtures her spirit with everlasting truth.

Nothing is ever "just a draft."

I return again to the words anxiously engaged. They do not mean hectically engaged. They do not mean frantically engaged. Rather, they reflect a deep, quiet commitment--some anticipation of what lies ahead... Now there is a problem that we have to face. C.S. Lewis called it "the tether and pang of the particular." He was describing life's local situations with which we must deal... that marvelous Book of Mormon tells us that we have got to be content with the things allotted to us. Whatever the circumference of our tether is, we ought to be content with that and live within the tether and pang of the particular.
...Please, submit your will to God. It is the only gift you've got to give. And the sooner it is placed on the altar, the better it will be for all.... This is the Lord's work.... And you have been called to carry it forward today...

I have discovered that many times you don't fully understand a scripture until you memorize it.
